Precare Instructions

COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (MICRONEEDLING)

• Avoid any harsh products or exfoliators for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. 
• Avoid overexposure to the sun in the days leading up to your appointment, especially without adequate sun protection. 
• Microneedling cannot be performed less than 24 hours after receiving a lash lift or brow lamination
• Microneedling cannot be performed less than 4 weeks after receiving professional exfoliation treatments such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, dermaplaning, or any laser treatments.
• Microneedling cannot be performed less than 2 weeks after receiving aesthetic injections such as wrinkle relaxers, dermal fillers, or PRF/PRP. 
• If you have any skin infection, rash, or active cold sores, or if you are ill, please reschedule your appointment.
• On the Day of your appointment, please arrive with no makeup if possible. We can remove it for you, but it cuts into your treatment time!

AFTERCARE Instructions

COLLAGEN INDUCTION THERAPY (MICRONEEDLING)

After the procedure, you may experience redness and sensitivity, similar to that of a moderate sunburn. You may also experience skin tightness and mild sensitivity to touch on the area being treated. Our Post-Microneedling Treatment and recommended at-home after care can significantly reduce these symptoms; however, it is possible to experience these side effects for three to five days post-treatment. 

After your Collagen Induction Therapy / Medical Microneedling Treatment: 

• Avoid touching or rubbing your face, particularly in the first 24 hours.
• Avoid application of makeup for at least 24 hours
• Avoid direct sun exposure, intense exercise, and heat exposure (saunas, hot tubs)
• Avoid any activities, exposure or products that may cause irritation to the skin. For some, this may mean avoiding foods or activities that trigger inflammation in your skin.
• Gently cleanse with a mild cleanser and lukewarm water, avoiding harsh scrubbing. 
• Apply the recommended aftercare products, as needed. Do not use any exfoliators or retinoids for at least 5 days following your treatment. (Environ Moisturizers, though technically retinoids, are gentle enough and safe to use)
• Contact us immediately if you experience any extreme redness or any level or irritation or swelling

Below are some additional tips to ensure the best possible results from your treatment: 

• Book your next treatment to maintain your skin’s health and appearance
• Use the skincare products recommended by your aesthetician
• Use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, even on cloudy days
• Keep your skin hydrated and moisturized
• Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption
• Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
• Get plenty of sleep to support skin repair
• Eat a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains
